Clites Architects, PC is a full service architecture firm located in historic Middleburg, Virginia. Our primary focus is residential architecture. We approach architecture as an intense collaboration with our clients; whom are the source of our design inspiration. From initial design sketches to the final construction punch list, we are intimately involved in every aspect of the project. Our most rewarding projects meet the client’s expectations with a solution more satisfying than they originally envisioned. We are a small firm, allowing the principal direct involvement in every project.
Current projects include new homes, historic renovations, and large scale additions.

TIMOTHY CLITES, AIA
Tim was born and raised in central Pennsylvania. He received his Bachelor of Architecture from the Boston Architectural Center (BAC), with a commends awards for design. While in Boston, he worked at Catalano Architects and Morehouse, MacDonald Architects. Most recently, Tim was a Senior Associate at Barnes Vanze Architects, Washington DC; where he developed and led their Middleburg, Virginia office. While at BVA, he led a number of award winning projects in the Middleburg area. In 2010, Tim founded Clites Architects to provide a higher level of principal involvement to every project.
Tim, his wife Linda, and their three boys live in Middleburg where they relish the strong sense of community. He has served on the Middleburg Planning Commission and the Board of Directors of the Middleburg Community Center and is currently serving as Chairman of the Historic District Review Committee for the town of Middleburg. Tim enjoys running, the outdoors, and family time.

LINDA CLITES
Linda grew up in Rochester, Michigan and Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Linda is a graduate of Northeastern University with a degree in accounting. She works as our Business Manager and with Loudoun County Public Schools in the Facilities department. An active mom of three boys, Linda organizes the family and business to keep things operating smoothly. Linda enjoys running and family time at the beach or lake. Breaks often include a walk with Lyza (for some quiet girl time).

JEREMY SMITH
Jeremy is a lifelong Loudoun County native. He has spent the last 20 years gaining experience in all types of architectural projects but has remained keenly focused on luxury residential design. He is currently a registered architect in Maryland and is pursuing his NCARB certification. He strives to provide the respect, thoroughness, communication, and guidance that clients need and require for not only a successful project, but an enjoyable one. Jeremy is happily married to his high school sweetheart and enjoys spending time with their two kids, camping, fishing, and enjoying their small hobby farm.

BARRY WEST
Barry was born in Fredericksburg, Virginia. He attended Pennsylvania College of Technology and Howard University, receiving a Bachelor’s of Architecture degree from Howard in 2014. Barry joined Clites Architects shortly after graduation and is currently working to obtain his architectural registration. Barry leads our BIM (Building Information Modeling) program in the office and continues to develop ArchiCAD into a robust communication tool for our staff and clients. Barry enjoys time with friends and family, sports, gaming, and the outdoors.

DAVID STERN
Dave was born and raised in Winchester, VA. He received his Bachelor of Architecture degree from Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University in 1993. Dave has more than 20 years of experience in custom residential and light commercial design working at another small Middleburg architectural firm. Dave started working at Clites Architects in the spring of 2018. Dave leads many of our larger projects with a quiet resourcefulness that clients and colleagues appreciate. Dave enjoys time with family, bass fishing, mountain biking, and music.

MINDY STEWART
Mindy grew up in Arlington, VA. She received a B.A. in History from the University of Richmond and is currently enjoying Interior Design studies. She raised her daughters in Fairfax, VA and moved to the Middleburg area with her husband in 2017. Mindy has over 20 years’ experience in the conference and event industry, and several years working for local non-profits. Mindy started with Clites as Office Manager in 2022. She enjoys tennis, hiking, spending time with family, and monthly dinners with the senior residents at Levis House in Middleburg.
